Factors to be considered in the design of FRP sheets

1. Guarantee period

According to different requirements for weather resistance, our company can provide four types of warranty products for selection: 15 years (gold roof FRP sheet, first level flame retardant, second level flame retardant), 20 years, 25 years, and over 30 years.


2. Lighting (lighting ratio, lighting strip layout)

According to the different illumination requirements of each work area, products with different light transmittance can be selected. It is recommended to have a lighting rate of 10% to 25%, and to provide lighting from the ridge to the eaves. The transmittance of FRP sheets is generally between 50% and 80%, which can be selected for different needs. When the lighting rate is 10%, the illuminance can reach 100~150lex or more.


3. Wind pressure, snow pressure

The mechanical strength performance of FRP sheets with different thicknesses also varies. We can provide FRP sheets with thicknesses of approximately 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, and 2.0mm. By selecting FRP sheets of different thickness and specialized anti typhoon auxiliary components, as well as adjusting the spacing between roof purlins, it can adapt to wind and snow pressures in different regions. Generally speaking, a 1.5mm thick skylight panel can span 1.5m purlins, and its wind resistance can reach over 1kpa.


4. Insulation, heat insulation, and prevention of condensation
(1) The double-layer FRP sheet achieves the purpose of insulation, heat insulation, noise reduction, and prevention of condensation by adding an insulation layer.

(2) Cool lite FRP sheets maintain a certain level of light transmittance while significantly reducing thermal energy penetration, making them suitable for supermarkets, warehousing, logistics, and other occasions.


5. Fire prevention, smoke prevention, and droplet melting prevention
(1) It can quickly burn in the event of a fire, forming a smoke exhaust belt, and does not produce melting droplets during combustion.

(2) Flame retardant FRP sheets with an oxygen index greater than 26 can achieve second level flame retardancy, while those with an oxygen index greater than 30 can achieve first level flame retardancy. 

(3) The Shanghai Fire Department stipulates that for factories with an area of over 4000 square meters, their FRP sheets must meet the third level standard;

a、 Lighting rate ≥ 8%;  b、 The FRP sheet must be flammable; c、 There is no melting drop phenomenon after the FRP sheet burns.


6. Corrosion resistance
FRP materials have better corrosion resistance compared to metals themselves. FRP daylighting sheets have significantly improved corrosion resistance due to the use of thin films or gel coat technology on their surfaces. So it can be widely used in situations where corrosion resistance is generally required and metal materials are not suitable for use.


7. Color and Light

We can provide FRP sheets in five color schemes: light blue, navy blue, milky white, protein color, and colorless. When paired with color steel plates, the light transmitted through them is closer to natural light and the light is soft, without creating a dazzling feeling, avoiding color distortion and psychological suppression caused by artificial lighting.


8. Installation and waterproofing (please refer to the lap joint diagram)

(1) The wave shaped FRP sheet is consistent with the waveform of the color steel plate, easy to install and overlap, and has better waterproofing than materials such as PC hollow sheets.
(2) After adding colored steel plates to the skylight sheet, the edge can achieve the same effect as the colored steel plates, which can be easily overlapped with the colored steel plates and has excellent waterproof performance.

Chinese
